Make a Rocking Garden Guardian

One of the odd things I’ve moved around from apartment to apartment to apartment to house is a little blue cement frog my high school bestie and I painted together the summer after graduation.

We’d put him in the garden, but he needed an update.

I got out the Rustoleum Ultra Cover — a great paint in fantastic colors I’m really digging — and the Frog Tape.

First, I primed the little guy, and then gave him a coat of yellow.

I let him cure for three days so the tape wouldn’t remove paint. After the waiting period was up, I taped him off — I wanted him to be a tough garden guardian statue, so I gave him an eye stripe, a racing stripe on his back, and orange toes.

And here he is! Brand-new cement garden frog. He’s lookin’ good.
